Consumer Rating: ![]()
Product Description
The Coolpix L14 offers the world’s longest battery life, maximizing the power of the supplied Energizer lithium AA-size batteries. Using a standard battery size that is widely available around the world brings a great advantage in that it means never worrying about recharging or running out of power. Better still, the energy efficient design of the Coolpix L14 allows it to shoot 1,000 photos on a pair of Energizer lithium AA-size batteries. (The Coolpix L14 offers best battery performance in 3x zoom compact class as of August 30, 2007, according to research conducted by Nikon Corporation. Takes approximately 1,000 shots with supplied Energizer lithium, 440 shots with alkaline or 520 shots with EN-MH1 batteries [based on CIPA standard].)
Nikon Coolpix L14 Feature Highlights
New Easy Auto mode and scene modes for carefree shooting
Easy Auto mode makes it easier to turn on the camera and shoot without worrying about settings. Easy access to 15 different scene modes and five movie modes also ensures shooting that is tuned to give the best results to match the moment.
Three Unique Nikon Image Innovations
The Coolpix L14 features a selection of three innovative functions that allows the photographer to improve the quality of images within the camera. Face-priority AF automatically finds, then focuses on a face for crisp, clear results time after time. (Face recognition capability may be limited in some shooting conditions.) In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically compensates to help eradicate traces of the annoying red-eye effect that can sometimes be encountered during flash photography. And D-Lighting can be applied to improve underexposed images or shots taken with too much backlight. D-Lighting automatically creates a copy of the image with detail added where necessary, but with well-exposed areas left completely untouched.
Stop-motion animation for more creative fun
Stop-motion makes it easy to create animated films within the camera. Users can shoot models, move them, shoot them again and, when done, have the camera process the images to deliver professional-looking results using the timing of preference.
ISO 1000 capability for better pictures in lower light
Making it easier to take great-looking pictures in lower lighting conditions, or to capture fast-moving subjects with outstanding clarity, the Coolpix L14 accurately measures available light to automatically select the optimal sensitivity setting for the shot between the range of ISO 64 to as high as ISO 1000.

I really like the ease of use and quality of this camera. It takes great photos in auto mode and has a good sized LCD. Even the button layout is pretty easy once you try it a couple of times. Since it uses SD cards, it can hold tons of photos - SD cards are very cheap and compatible with many other cameras and devices.
